Find Clarity Within Yourself
Sometimes overthinking gets in the way and you don’t do the things that you planned on doing.
Getting out of your head and just doing it even if things don’t end up being perfect is a practice. You want to be perfect before anything goes out and the reality is that nothing is perfect.
As I mentioned to someone the other week, some of my best-performing posts and stories are ones that flow organically from when I’m deeply connected with myself.
Sometimes that may mean you have to keep saying ‘no’ to protect your energy and your time, even if there are those who keep asking, you have to remind yourself of your highest priorities even when it’s not easy. It’s easier to take the path of least resistance and to just give in to what others ask of you. Yes, it’s challenging to potentially disappoint others and you have to consider how you are also being impacted in the process. It’s a work in progress, so remember that as you practice honouring and advocating for your needs.
Sometimes you may find that you’re disappointing yourself when you unconsciously say ‘yes’ to everything and find that you cannot commit and/or fulfil your promises. In situations where you’re used to reacting, take a moment to breathe and check in with yourself. What is your gut intuition telling you? If you watched the Bachelor this week, you may have seen Gabi reflecting back on her intuition and feeling disappointed because she knew that it wasn’t her and still went along with the process.
Here are 3 reminders to create more clarity within yourself:
Clear the noise to listen to your intuition. How do you get more clear with yourself in the midst of all the noise? Meditation is a good practice to connect with yourself. A walking meditation is also something to consider if you can’t sit still and find that walking it out brings connection within yourself. It can create a mind/body connection while connecting to the elements of nature to train the brain to create greater self-awareness. Breathwork and cold/hot exposure are also ways to train the mind to create more self-awareness.
Create greater openings with yourself to receive. A lesson that one of my teachers shared the other day is to keep being clear and connected with yourself so that you can receive the symbols and messages that you’re meant to receive. With the demands of modern-day life, you can be easily distracted or so busy that you don’t have the time or bandwidth to receive/process/understand the messages that are being presented to you. When you get clearer with yourself, you can see, feel, and hear the messages that you’re meant to hear. When you release your baggage, your focus becomes more clear and you’re able to manifest the things that you want in your life and career.
Set yourself up for success. If you know that you’re not a morning person and you need to be a morning person, then see if you can go to sleep a few minutes earlier every night to wake up earlier. See if you can shut down and create a bedtime routine to help you feel calm and relaxed as you wind down. If you know that you’re going to talk yourself out from going on that morning run/walk, can you put your workout clothes next to your bed so that you just wake up and go? If you’re not getting enough water during the day, can you set reminders on your phone/computer to remind you to keep hydrated? If you know that you’re going to get distracted in the morning by emails, can you set some time to the deep work so that you ‘eat that frog first’?
