3 Ways To Stop Caring About What Everyone Has To Say And Just Do You

How do you spend more of your focus and attention on yourself? In a way that gives your focus on doing what you need to do for yourself rather than giving your energy to what others are thinking and doing.

Perhaps you are on a healing journey and doing what you need to do to feel whole again. It’s easy to get caught up with what other people are doing and as a result, feel bad that you’re not measuring up. It’s also a good reminder when this happens to remember to keep focusing that energy on yourself to see how you can grow and learn.

Also, check in with your own self-expectations. Are your expectations realistic? Are they achievable?

Here are 3 ways to keep focusing on yourself:

  1. Journal and let go of self-judgment. Write down everything that you want to say and can’t say for whatever reason. Keep letting your brain flow. If you need suggestions for prompts, give this book a go (not sponsored) — “The Artist’s Way.”

  2. Find a way to set a boundary on other people’s opinions. Maybe you put a limit on the time that you spend scrolling on Social Media. The thoughts and beliefs of others may be seeping into your subconscious without you being aware of it; even though you don’t think this energy is affecting you, it may be. Maybe you excuse yourself from a conversation that doesn’t serve you. Or maybe you stop yourself and do a pattern interrupt when you find yourself comparing yourself to others and find one nice thing to say about yourself.

  3. Focus on your own self-improvement. Accept your own responsibility for your life.

What actions are you taking to move forward?

What books are you reading?

How are you growing and learning?

Are you challenging to get yourself out of your comfort zone?

Maybe you go to sleep an hour earlier or wake up an hour earlier. Maybe you take some time to give yourself a mental and physical break. Maybe you start a personal passion project to keep you excited and motivated. The key is to find a rhythm and a pace that consistently works for you. When you focus on your improving yourself, you worry less about what others are doing and how that affects you.

What are some things that you’re doing to keep you focused on your own personal growth?
