Not everyone has the financial means to get the help/support they need, and meeting them where they are is so important. This relates to whether you are an individual and/or a business. Empathy is so key.

So often, social media can be so triggering as you see everyone’s highlight reels when you are silently going through your own challenges. You may not want to be the ‘party pooper’. Know that your perspective is valid.

You see everyone’s ‘best lives’ on social media and it can be triggering when for example, you feel alone, and not acknowledged. You may be alone on your birthday, you may not have ‘milestones’ to celebrate, you may not be able to take those grandiose holidays or trips, and you may feel behind as everyone is too ‘busy’ for you. You may feel all the feelings of being human.

You don’t often see how challenging it is for one to get the right support that they need to be seen/heard/acknowledged. You may have asked, you may have tried without success and just feel isolated and alone. Because the other person can’t meet you where you are, that doesn’t mean your feelings are invalid.

If someone has reached out to you, I hope you can take the above sentiments to heart and respond with more empathy to the best of your ability while protecting your own peace of mind.
