Brain health
This pitch about brain health highlighted the awareness of Alzheimer's disease. Women are said to be more susceptible and so are caregivers which was quite an interesting finding from the pitch.
So I guess what this makes me think about is do we actually think about the importance of our brain health? Do we exercise and take care of our minds the way that we take care of our physical bodies? Are we even aware of the power of our brain and what it's thinking about on a daily basis?
Having an awareness of whether your brain is overloaded or overwhelmed is key. Knowing when those thoughts are going round and round is important and also, whether you are attaching yourself to your thoughts that can keep you up at night. It's also key to have strategies to allow your brain to rest and giving your brain a rest from all the thinking and overthinking.
When there is a sudden loss, the brain can go through various stages of healing and it's so key to give yourself grace that you need to do what you need to do. The brain is so powerful and hopefully with greater research, we can find a solution to Alzheimer's and other degenerative diseases.
